"As shown in Figure 1, 47% of organizations are already using Java,
and the rest plan to test and deploy Java-based solutions within
the next 12 months. Of those currently using Java, 52% are already
rolling out applications within their organizations, which
represents roughly one-quarter of all enterprises interviewed.
Although Java technology and the marketplace are immature, there
appears to be significant interest in its use today, Internet
time not withstanding. The following sections discuss several of
our findings on the current state and future deployment plans for
Java within the enterprise."
