Arafat is going to ditch the post of sock puppet, I mean PA prime minister:

And let me guess.. you think this is a good thing, right?

Shaath refused to elaborate, but some PA officials said the other options include a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state on all the territories captured in 1967 and dissolving the PA.

Makes a great deal of sense, from their perspective. One unilateral step deserves another.. and since Bush has now "taken sides" with Sharon, why shouldn't the rest of the Arab world take sides with Arafat again??

After all, how can they reasonably resist being required to do so after such an insult?

Arafat's consolidating his power again, nullifying any moderate opposition and setting the PA on a path for further confrontation, this time backed up by the rest of the Arab world who can't possibly defend or justify the annexation of non-strategic territory within the West Bank..

Yeah... that's a good thing.. geez...

If this blows up into a full-scale confrontation that further empowers the militants, I might just vote for Kerry (bwack!!)
