He joined several equally privileged friends with the means to avoid the draft who volunteered for the military" I believe Kerry asked for a draft deferment to go to France to study for a year and was denied. It was after that situation he joined the navy. philly radio 1210 just had O"Neil call in and other veternans are now calling. not very happy with Kerry actions when he came home. One pow saying kerry speaches played at "Hanio Hilton" to us. Another viet now saying Kerry ruined it for me as a vet. when i came home i had to hide my uniform.
