"We are "supposed to" accept all men of all religions as being equally valid."

Well, yeah. Aren't all humans created equally in the eyes of the faithful?

It is the egotistical aspect of humanity, played out by religious myth (or at least religious story) that causes the problems?

"Something can now be true for someone and yet false for someone else.

I am glad that you admit that you do not have "faith"

As much as this has been spun as a joke, reality is subjective, especially as it relates to faith which cannot be quantified (not that I want my life to be wholely quantified).

"If you said something was whatever color you wanted to believe it was you would soon find yourself in a coat that buttons up in the back...but when it comes to religion - oh oh that is just fine..."

As a way of an experiment, have a few of your friends describe the color red, or blue, or green and see if reality is not subjective. Sure, we could describe those colors in frequencies, but that is not how we relate.

"You see - today "faith" is just a nice and warm fuzzy set of beliefs that make you feel better about the human condition but have nothing to do with real life - real life is not bothering anyone about issues of "faith".

I agree with you there. Faith is a nice warm, fuzzy feeling and the tenents of the faiths and observance does not matter. All one needs do, is claim to be a ....and you are!
