<<thinking that it is an abomination that any piece of land that was once Arab should become non-Arab, that the non-Arabs all deserve to be killed en masse, or driven out.>>

And what percentage of the Arab population do you believe that profess this sentiment??? Certainly it is a goal of the extreme fundamentalists but you make it sound like this is part of the Arab/Islamist culture which it certainly isn't. This would be akin to an Arab thinking that all westerners profess the beliefs of fundamentalist Christians....

<<I advocate the Arabs becoming modern people and to stop accepting the kleptocrat dictators they have ruling them>>

Boy, it sure would be nice if they could just simply stop "accepting" them. If that was the case we wouldn't be bogged down in our current mess. Way too simplistic.....

<<Negotations and compromise got a terror war in response.>>

C'mon now Nadine, you can do better than that.......Sharon's excursion at Al-Aqsa had absolutely nothing to do with it I suppose?

<<Of course Arafat promised it, just as he promised to stop terror and end incitment.>>

As I said before Nadine, Arafat is as bad for his people as Sharon is for his. You'll get no argument from me as I don't condone Arafat's actions.

<<Why do I have a feeling that you would have been a big Chamberlain supporter in 1938?>>

Arafat is to Hitler as Oasis is to The Beatles, if you know what I mean.
If all future negotiations for peace in every conflict were discontinued because of Chamberlain's failure, what a different world we'd be living in today! Thank God that most of us think that peace is still an option.
