In this case, the editor was referring to the fact that the blogger did some University research and found articles on file that showed that his political reporter and Daschle had been fast friends in college, supporting each other in their politics. And have hid it ever since. The reporter has been a disguised "fifth column" for Daschle while reporting on him for the most powerful newspaper in South Dakota.

The initial reaction of old line Media editors to bloggers is dislike. When they talk or write about it, the first thing they use is the fact that the bloggers are not edited.
