Do remember all the dolts on SI arguing before our invasion of Iraq last year how it was the highest priority that we get those WMDs before Saddam wipes out Western civilization? Funny how those arguements have proven so hallow. I think most people at this point realize they were duped by the WMDs hysteria. It is an amazing lesson in human gullibility and propaganda.

It's kind of hard being a conservative in America these days. I mean, to be a conservative in America in 2004, you have to let yourself be indoctrinated by American media/government propaganda and then start exposing it as though it's the truth. You have to accept and repeat the big lie. In the good old days of the Cold War, a conservative could argue that America had the high moral ground and some things (like coups) could be justified for the higher principle of defeating communism. But now? How can anyone in their right mind argue that what we're doing in Iraq is moral or taking the high ground? We're just another imperialistic power, invading and conquering to control natural resources. There's nothing terribly moral or high-minded about that old trick.
