Watch for this ad, John. ABC News Vote 2004: the Senate: We report this morning on the Club for Growth's latest ad attacking Sen. Arlen Specter. This one features a cancer survivor attacking the Senator for supporting trial lawyers and will start running today on cable channels statewide. The Club calls this "the second installment of a $400,000 ad campaign by the Club for Growth PAC." As for the ad itself, Pennsylvanian Barbara K. Clement says, "'The doctor who helped me beat cancer is gone; forced out of state by the costs of lawsuit abuse. Fifteen hundred doctors quit last year. But trial lawyers still block legal reform. And Arlen Specter voted on their side. Specter's campaign gets millions from lawyers. That's wrong. So I'm voting for Pat Toomey. His plan puts patients and doctors first. It's about time." At the end, the group says, the screen says: "'Keep your doctor. Replace Arlen Specter.'"
