Phil & Scott:. IBM has a unannounced desk-top JAVA OS - "bluebird"

IBM put $50 million in NeXT and former IBMer Hancock brought NeXT to AAPL . Gates has now added $150 mill getting AAPL stock at $16/shr.

IBM developed AAPL's PowerPC and makes AAPL's Powerbook in Japan , probably to make sure it doesn't smoke . Bluebirds don't smoke .

Jobs moved Pixar modestly closer to Woodside . Pixar announced it has consolidated products and doesn't expect much action for 6 months.

Jobs wants AAPL's prime mover's bonuses paid in stock , after selling 1.5 million shares himself , and FREELY does AAPL's interim CEO job .

3 AAPL insiders Amelio, Markula and Avie (a Rhapsody prime mover) rush to register stock , while AAPL states it can't see a profit soon .

Jobs gets pissed at Power's Kocher for demanding a OS 8 deal . Maybe got him bumped , after doing likewise to Amelio/Hancock , his finders.

MSFT's investment may yet become advantage AAPL due to the Justice Dept . Kind of what happened to IBM's (Cannavino) interest in NeXT .

Back to Bluebird - it offloads processing to the server's OS thereby saving OS (like NT) license charges . Supports JAVA , does Rhapsody?

Markula has always sold his shares at a trumped up price (last time $44/shr) but what will happen if Power's IPO is dead due to AAPL ?.

Did AAPL give Power a OS deal or is there yet another deal worth waiting for ? Is the search firm looking for both a CEO and a COB ?

Can this be a Jobs/Ellison well directed soap opera ? Is it worth trying to guess ? Any thoughts or opinions ?

Regards, Jim K.
