Better to get "into" the Middle East, than to get the Middle East into America.

The history of the Middle East is one of Muslims/Arabs committing ethnic cleansing and genocide against minorities. The insane Muslim culture is trying to spread outside of the Middle East. Unfortunately the US and only a few allies is willing to stop Muslim imperialism.

Is it only the Muslims?

Who decimated the Indian populations in the Americas? Who killed off the Jews and gypsies in Europe? Who terrorizes the Muslim populations in Germany? What is all the fighting about that continues between the Serbs and the Kosovans? Why do the Irish Protestants discriminate against the Irish Catholics?

It seems to me that genocide and ethnic cleansing are a part of the human condition. Having said that, what bothers me most about the ME is their undemocratic, repressive gov'ts.

You wrote:"Its why we can't possibly fathom the ME mindset."

That's why we have to close our border to ME Muslim/Arab immigration. Many Muslims/Arabs don't come here to blend in, they come over here to destroy our culture.

Do you really think all Arabs/Muslims are nuts? A Palestinian taught the ME course I took last fall. Not once did he try to suicide bomb the class. <g>

You wrote:"Its why Bush's vision of democracy in Iraq is far fetched."

His choices are limited. We could have let the very dangerous Saddam Hussein continue to fund terrorism. Saddam wanted to strike back at the US. What kind of evil plans did he have for us and our allies? Bush didn't want to do nothing and have Americans find out the answer the hard way, the way we did on Sept 11.

Saddam wasn't causing any problems and he contributed probably the least amount of monies to terrorists of any ME country.....certainly less than Saudi Arabia or Egypt.
