The settlements in the occupied territories are a bleeding sore on the credibility of Israel -- when you make this kind of statement and say "we don't know if it is Israeli land" you just reinforce the image of Israel as a bunch of well-armed self-serving thieves. You want peace? Cut the crap. Get off their land.
