<... as he's not passing around a collection plate Brother Mq's traveling cyber salvation show is ok... ;o)>

Spot, I'm sorry to admit I have a collection plate, in the form of QUALCOMM royalties and ASIC sales [not to mention BREW and other things].

Not only will you pay to be superseded, the more you pay, [for the latest models], the faster your pre-eminence will be lost. We can go the Amish way, but that's not attractive for most of us. Or, we can go with the flow. It looks to me like the forces of gravity and old age = they are one way streets and we are on our way.

So, each of us can refuse to participate, but everyone else will do so and leave us behind, or we can all participate and hasten the process. Nature just seems to work like that.

The original chimpoid human who got up on his hind legs to impress the ladies and wore a hat to look really cool could be ignored, but the ladies would not ignore him. Similarly, a bloke could refuse to buy a cyberphone, but ladies might pass him by for somebody with the latest connection. Anyway, employers and customers will put pressure on to go with the flow. Not to mention Homeland Security. There's no way out and there's no stopping the process.

I think that I might as well by the cyberphone and hold the collection plate. Somebody has to do it! If I don't, somebody else will and I'll be the Neanderthal-looking guy ranting about the good old days when we walked on our knuckles, didn't have to wash and didn't have to fiddle with cyberphones.

So, pop some money in the plate and you'll be issued with the latest in CDMA technology so you aren't left behind.

Thanks in advance,
Mqurice
