That would be my conclusion, based on facts. Somewhere between 94 and 97% of all money spent of foreign relations by the U.S. flows through the Pentagon. The State Deparment is trivial in comparison. And watching the way that the brasshats treat Congresscritters these days, one would have to say that there is almost a pathological lack of respect for Congress. And oversight? That flew out the window.

On NPR's Marketplace on Friday, there was a surprisingly candid segment on corruption in military procurement. Very cleverly someone has been spending the last few years dismantling the Inspector General staff at the Pentagon as if in preparation for the Iraqi bonanza.
