>>However, when President Bush abandoned his efforts at getting UN Security Council approval for an invasion that March, Kerry was silent. When President Bush actually launched the invasion soon afterwards, Senator Kerry praised him, co-sponsoring a Senate resolution in which he declared that the invasion was “lawful and fully authorized by the Congress” and that he “commends and supports the efforts and leadership of the President . . . in the conflict with Iraq.”<<

Very good review for the fact about Bush and Kerry's Iraq war decisions and attitudes at the key period.

However, Bush and Kerry are/were not blind or near-sighted as the title of the article indicated. They both knew more about the real purpose of the Iraq war and who were pushing it than all the posters here did. Personally they are never stupid, and it was not difficult for these two senior politicians to see the heavy costs and the likely consequences of the Iraq war for America.

The bottom line is that they both have known what we know PLUS they have known what they had to do then and will have to do in the future for the powerhouse. That's all.
