Yeah, well those are "social" programs. As in "Socialist", which we all know, is just a baby step to the right of "Communism". Every developed country on Earth has universal health care but us. We've got the world's most powerful military, despite being one of the least threatened nations on the planet. Our land neighbors are Mexico and Canada, who are about as threatening as Mr. Rodgers and Speedy Gonzales. Anyone else would have to mount an amphibious assault to dwarf D-Day to invade us. Our satellites would detect it months in advance. Yet I hear right wing morons saying "Better to fight them over there to keep us from having to fight them here". Perhaps Bush is just the President we deserve.
