I haven't seen anything that says the Japanese care whether they went as freelance journalists or as peaceniks. Maybe you have? What gets me is that the "Times" reporter must have heard about it. Hell, we all did. And didn't refer to it in the story. Why? Because he didn't want to bring up the anti-war angle? Maybe one of our bloggers will investigate. This is the kind of omission the "gatekeepers" can't get away with any more. The rowback article on "It's 1971 Kansas City" story in the Times is all over Blogdom.
