Bush has the best ads running here although Kerry has a new one. A non-Kerry group who opposes Bush also had a good ad. The group pointed out that under the new Medicare Bill the government is not allowed to negotiate prices of prescription drugs with the drug companies. Other large government contracts are open to bids. Since companies are less likely to offer health insurance to retired employees in the future, I believe it is important for Americans to know that they may be stuck with the higher drug costs under the Medicare Agreement that Congress passed and Bush signed last November.
