I was only commenting on your statement that Not even Canadians get blamed for their treatment of Native Americans. I offered an explanation as to why this was so.

Canada has its share of blame for mistreatment of natives. The residential school program although possibly well-intentioned was a disaster. Also, in Newfoundland (although not part of Canada at the time) the Beothucks (sp?) were slaughtered until they became extinct in the 1800s.
