I agree with you, and the Israeli leadership plead with him not to join Syria and Iraq, but he "had to, thus he paid the price. At least one thing must be said in his favor, his troops were the best ASrab troops in the conflict. There is a place (I believe it is called Ammunition hill) near Jerusalem, where Arab Legion resistance was so valiant, that Israeli paratroopers that opposed them used once a year to go their and salute the fallen Jordanian soldiers.
