Thanks Nicholas and Gary for the info. I still haven't gotten in yet. I'm maybe getting a case of cold feet, but maybe I'll get in in the next few days. I feel like Friday is setting up to be a big day for the market, though I don't know if it'll be up or down. Depends on the employment report. If it's good (i.e. low employment) then the market should rocket upwards, and if it's bad it'll crater IMO. And if it craters I expect the small weak stocks without earnings like Thermo and a few others I follow to get creamed.
I think the 1.2-1.4 is an unstable point for the stock, and shortly expect it to go back to 1.7-2 or collapse under 1.

I can believe that the MM's are trying to manipulate this stock. Still the volume lately has been surprisingly large. Anyone have any explanation of that? When the volume dries up it may indicate we are seeing a bottom. Just a guess on my part. I think the earnings report is crucial at this juncture. I think the market is negatively re-evaluating stocks without earnings at this point. I believe some of them may go down for the count, so Thermo MUST show earnings some time within fiscal 1997 or it could be over for the stock. I wish I could trust them as much as you guys but didn't someone else talk about how another newsletter gave up on TTRIF because they felt they weren't leveling with their shareholders? The market's new attitude toward earnings introduces additional risk that wasn't there previously, and the MM's may not be able to manipulate the stock back over 2 and 3 as in previous cycles.
I checked out the web page of Thermo. It says:
>As an additional obligation under the agreement, the Company exercised its option to convert its Global $350,000 convertible debenture into 350,000 common shares of Global at a price of $1.00 (Cdn.) per share.

Some questions. Aren't they diluting the outstanding stock by doing this? Also, how was this price decided upon. It seems to be saying they are valuing Thermo at about 73 cents US. Will the stock now sink to that level?

A lot of questions and not many answers. I'm watching carefully and trying to decide my next move. Gary you seem to be into Thermo in a big way these days. Best of luck to all of us.
