I think we are in the same camp regarding Sinclair. He is prone to hyperbole, and a permabull. I would take serious note of a strong bearish call from him.

Everyone likes to beat on Alan. I get very tired of his bs doubletalk, but I recognize that his is probably one of the most difficult jobs in the world. And if he is still around in the next year, its going to get a lot more difficult. I would love to see a no-holds-barred debate between Greenspan and Ron Paul. Would make a great pay-per-view -g-

I agree with your entire second paragraph. The vast majority of Americans do not even consider the possibility of a reduction in their standard of living. Most will not be prepared. Canadians don't appear to have the same taste for excess, so I expect there won't be as much pain.

The future is certainly uncertain.
