Study up at the DOE EIA website and you will see that 2/3 of the worlds oil a fungible commodity is located in the Persian Gulf area. The FSU states contain little and are pretty screwed up as well.

There is no alternative to oil on the horizon. Our sons and daughters will be getting plenty of experience helping the Mideasterners move from the 16th century into the 21st. We may be fighting there for another 50 years though. We still have not left Korea.

We are free prosperous and rich. We export coke, Brittany Spears and all sorts of things even moderate Muslims detest. We organized many of the borders of their countries and supported brutal dictators over the last 100 years.

If we dont bring them into a peaceful coexistence with the globe, they will be destroyed. Sooner or later one of their fanatics will unleash a nuke in NYC and the consequences for them will be beyond imagine.

The cost of bringing our nation to its present day existence has been tremendous. The Iraqi's will have to pay a very high price as well.

If we elect to leave Iraq to the terrorists the world as we know will be doomed.
