Re: Don't you think that if we just pull out of Iraq there will be chaos?

Santayana famously said that those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them. In this case, history teaches us an interesting lesson.

From 1968 until 1975, dozens of politicians and pundits were telling the American public that if we pulled out of Viet Nam that there would be chaos. Finally, Congress grew enough of a spine to cut off the military monster's money, and the brasshats were forced to come home in ignomy and shame.

And what happened in Viet Nam once we stopped destabilizing it and bombing it back to the Stone Age? After a brief period of reprisals for traitorous collaborators (from the Vietnamese perspective, of course) the nation returned to peace and tranquility became the order of the day. Everyone was much happier with self-rule than with the neo-colonialist American pigs rooting around the countryside. Even the neo-colonialist American pigs who weren't part of the general staff or executive "suits" among the weapons contractors.

So, what will happen in Iraq if the U.S. enjoys a "premature evacuation"? Well, hopefully they leave Ahmed Chalabi behind so he can be mercilessly drawn and quartered and the parts hung from a bridge some where. Same with all the rest of his corrupt brigands and mercenary whores. For that matter, perhaps we could ship the headquarters (no pun intended) staff of Halliburton over for their just desserts in the desert.
