Kerry should have stuck with the foregoing comments
from 1992, rather than injecting Vietnam into
this campaign.

As I recall, it started with the Democratic
machine questioning Bush's service and touting
Kerry as the "war hero."

Some things are best left alone.
But, you're right, imo, Kerry brought
all that stuff to the present by spinning the
heck out of his prior comments and trying to
parse the notion of medals vs. ribbons.
