First, I've tried to be straight up and honest in all my posts. I've tried to correct any post with factual errors.
Second, I've repeatedly written that I do not blame Bush for the 2001 recession. Bush's economic failures are post 9/11. The recession ended in November, 2001, and the recovery has been slow and very uneven. I believe the poor recovery is due to Bush’s policies. In previous posts, I’ve tried to explain my thinking, and I’m sure I will again (usually I discuss economics on other threads).
Third, Kerry is not responsible for moveon.org's ads. Sure, he could complain, but he cannot control their content. That would be illegal. In my opinion, these ads are not all that helpful for Kerry; they detract from his message and make people think he is being negative.
All of Kerry's TV ads have been positive (jobs, defense, healthcare, etc.). With the exception of the "steady leadership" ad (reminds me of the captain of the Titanic<g>), all of Bush's ads have been negative. Hence the phrase, Smear and Fear.
Blaming a candidate for the posts of certain SI characters is obviously unfair. Neither Kerry or Bush controls the content of posters (well, at least not me)! I've encountered, uh ... non-constructive posts for both candidates.
