O’Hara vows TVG will invest ‘more money than ever’ in its product

Ryan O’Hara, who took over as chief operating officer of Television Games Network in February, said on Thursday during a presentation to the California Horse Racing Board that the company has decided "to invest more money than ever to meet the public’s demand for improved product."
O’Hara said the improvements would include enhanced on-screen graphics and explanations of terms and practices in racing to give viewers a better understanding of the sport.
TVG reported $213,725,181 in handle from account wagering during 2003, a record for the network and a 34.2% increase from the previous year. O’Hara said TVG is now available in 12.5-million homes, a 50% increase from eight-million at the start of 2003.
TVG has a 16.6% interest in Youbet.com, which received a renewal of its advance deposit wagering license from the CHRB on Thursday. The term of the license was shortened to the end of this year, to place Youbet.com’s period in sync with California’s two other advance deposit wagering services, TVG and XpressBet.
