I agree - so how come Kerry lowered himself and personally attacked the President yesterday for not being able to prove definitively where he was 30 years ago.

They just don't get it.

Clinton would have gone down (bad choice of words) if he came out and said, "Lonely in a tiny room all day, I did something very bad, or exciting, depending on how you look at it."

Bush - "My Dad got me into the Guard. Felt I was too important to his political future to get killed in VN. I know it doesn't look good but the whole war was a mistake."

Kerry - "I was angry. The was was so wrong on so many levels. I wanted to make a statement but I couldn't throw my medals away. I pretended to do it. It was a lie, a mistake, but I was an angry young man who made lots of mistakes."

How's that for spin. I'd vote for any of the above if they said that instead of

Clinton, "I did not have a specific form of sex with that woman (I'm thinking of my wife as "that" woman.)"

Bush, "I didn't volunteer to get killed. I was in party mode at that time in my life. BUTTT I bravely flew jets and got my teeth cleaned. Oh yeah, I got paid."

Kerry, "A ribbon is a medal. I throw them away and I kept them. The President can't prove he did and did not do the same thing 30 years. Only I can prove that I did something and didn't do it at the same time 30 years ago."
