It was protested by WWII and older veterans at the time that the cheapening of medals during Vietnam was an obscene scandal. That small controversy is long forgotten, as it didn't serve the perceived needs of the anti-American media at the time.

Their goal in the early 70's was to VILLIANIZE Vietnam vets AND the medals they won. The media attitude was that all medals indicated a slimy murderer of the brown peoples of the third world, so they didn't particularly CARE whether the medals were cheapened or not. That seems to have been, in retrospect, a tactical error on the part of the domestic enemy.

That may now come back to bite them in the ass, as they try to sell us the idea that Kerry should be president because he won medals. If it transpired that he hustled the medals, rather than winning them legitimately, the left wing media has no place to go-and neither does the slimy traitor, John Kerry...
