In the long term, the environment is THE most important issue. You have to shape policy with a very long term view. If you clear-cut a forest, for instance, you kill the golden goose and will never be able to use trees from that place again. Same with fishing grounds, grazing land, or if you despoil a wildlife refuge. The Cheney-Bush team have opened up the flodgates for polluters to have the right to do any damn thing they want. The worst part is Cheney-Bush insist on practically no enforcement of EPA laws. They have also disengaged from global treaties, as it pollution knows national borders. The Cheney-Bush non-environmental policies are wicked, selfish, greedy and extremely unsustainable. They are a real sin against our children and our future. And every single polluter contributes heavily to the B-C campaign.
