Katie Couric & Oprah carry the load for liberal media. Walter Cronkite triggered the "left wing liberal media" accusations when he turned against the Vietnam war. Network anchors like Dan Rather & Tom Brokaw furthered the military/intelligence criticisms in the 80s that helped hogtie U.S. intelligence agencies(CIA/FBI) and ultimately resulted in enabling the occurrence of 9/11. I agree that the current airwaves are polluted with extreme right wing nonsense from Rush Limbaugh & Bill O'Reilly. Chris Matthews has liberal roots & helped push Kerry as Dem nominee but he learned long ago that in order to survive on cable, he had better temper his liberal leanings & appear more balanced.
