I can't say, but she's well within her rights to put the law to the test. I've been to Canada and I've seen some of the police (sikhs? I'm not sure) there wearing turbans with a badge afixed to the front. Big deal, caps or turbans, doesn't make a difference, but it shows a level of tolerance that you might consider emulating.
