I was too involved with Hawkmoon's insistance that the CIA was not involved in Afganistan. Which he changed to not directly involved.


I think the most accurate way to phrase it is that during the 80's, the CIA (via the ISI) and Osama bin Laden cofunded some of the same mujahadeen. It is not accurate to say that the CIA ever funded bin Laden, directly or indirectly.
