The Bush family had the power to cover up ANYTHING in Texas so the death of Hatfield remains extremely suspicious. You posted one opinion, but others say that his charges were true and that he never ever commited any crimes. You and I don't know the truth but consider this one of those shadowy possibilities.

One thing we can all agree on, Bush has never denied using cocaine in the 70's and it would be one explanation as to why he mysteriously disappeared from Guard duty in 1972. He is also an admitted ex alcoholic party boy. Booze and coke mixed very well in those as, as I remember. I too indulged as did many of my preppy friends from GW's same world of extreme wealth and priviledge in the Ivy League world. Remember, GW is not a Texan, he's an east coast preppy transplanted. In 1972 he was inbetween Yale and Harvard after Andover-Exeter. Hardly a Texan at all. When I was in Austin in 1974 thewy were doing a ton of drugs there too, especially rich kids who could afford drugs.

I have also personally seen rich families whose sons are busted make the charges disappear. The Bushes would definitely do that. And Bush Sr. was then head of the RNC. very powerful.
