Z, I was listening to the radio today in Albany on my way to the airport to go to FL, and a couple of the local talk show hosts were discussing the fact that the media hasn't been mentioning the Iraqi casualties, and these hosts attributed that to a desire not to equate high numbers of "dead Iraqis" with victory, like was done by the media during Vietnam. It made sense to me.

So instead, you see only American deaths making the front page of newspapers, giving the impression that we're the only side taking any casualties.

War is war. The press is trying to shape opinions about the war one way or another, but they're doing a big disservice by not mentioning the casualties on the other side. Instead, they ought to report the facts and let us decide whether the high numbers of dead Iraqis equal a victory or not.
