Solon, I believe that anything is possible, but surely not easy, nor anywhere in the near future. Because of the nature of man, no religion will get off it's "high horse" but mankind can shun those religions that preach hate, and form a new one, if enough of them want to do so.
I read the same kind of newspapers that you do, and am well aware of the violence, and war, in the world. My saying that peace could be achieved is true, but I never stuck my neck out far enough to say that it will. Evidently, it is the nature of man to be in conflict with other men, and none of the factions really give a damn about the killing that ensues. Do you think that is what any decent deity would want?? I don't, so that is why I think that so many religions are not sincere in what they say, or do, and that includes some branches of Christianity, much to my dismay. |
