I have to agree with you Scott, if you really want to be sure of something you read on these threads, you should confirm it for yourself. That's what I did. (BTW, I'm the one who posted the response from JTS IR about earnings being released next week). I expect that most of us have worked hard for our money and can't afford to make important decisions without confirming the facts. I must say however, that I've never seen or heard of anyone intentionally trying to lie about an earnings release date.

I would like to note that in my experience, it is not unheard of for a company to be uncertain of an earnings release date this close to releasing. Syquest for example is one company I follow closely and they have done this on more than one occasion. In addition, IR may not always be correct. There was it seems a recent situation documented on the Borland thread about one of the posters who received an incorrect earnings release date from IR. He was planning to buy just before the release and was caught off guard when they issued the report early. The stock bounced up and he missed the move.

If your trading on thread info, then one should confirm it. If not, who cares, the truth will be known soon enough. IMO.

Regards - Dale
