JPM lowered 2004 EPS estimate to 0.60 (previously 0.88) and 2005 EPS estimate to 1.15 (from 1.46). Maintained the stock at overweight.
• Gross margin outlook weak. Amkor is now projecting gross margins to ramp to the 26-28% in 2004, lower than the previous estimates for a ramp to 28-30%. A mix shift to lower ASP products, higher materials cost, and higher depreciation costs are likely to suppress margins despite the continued healthy outlook for top line growth.

Listened to the conference call. Not a terrible quarter. Expanding into strong Taiwan and China markets. Typically the company doesn't miss only once so the price was wacked hard. Last Q on call was the company take on this position and they had a couple of hopeful things to say regarding this.

8 x 2005 earnings seems very cheap. AMKR is priced for future disappointment.
