When I was in my early 20s I had a roommate in graduate school that was a 35 year old extreme right-winger. He and I (me, being an extremist liberal at the time) had some AWFULLY heated disagreement -- on subjects ranging from capital punishment to foreign affairs. I'm pleased to say I never came around to his way of thinking about most issues. But somehow, putting a few years on DOES have a tendency to move many people to the right. Of course, there are some who "never get it". But don't give up. Liberalism CAN be cured, and often goes away by itself given a little time... ;)
