Ann, I'm disappointed in you. You wrote a post that stated an opinion that Kerry's 1970s statements concerning the things that were occurring in Vietnam during and after his tour of duty were FALSE. I asked you to consider what YOU might have done and I gave you a hypothetical that laid out the way it was for many of our soldiers. You responded with a post about why the war was "necessary."

History would indicate that you're wrong on the "necessary" opinion but, regardless, I'm curious to know whether or not you understand a little more about why Kerry was RIGHT about the atrocities in Vietnam?

The reason it's important to understand these currents is because many of the same pressures and forces are in play in Iraq. Ultimately they'll lead us to the same failure if we follow the same proud, stubborn, and senseless path that left us in Vietnam long after the writing was on the wall.
