I haven't talked to NTII, nor have heard any rumors. But, based on how the price is behaving my best guess is 1)someone is buying a chunk of the company -- possibly in anticipation of buying the entire company, OR 2) NTII has arranged a lucrative partnership for one or more of their drugs.

I doubt results from the trials are in yet - it's too soon. I also doubt there is another offering to be announced (with respects to John de Castro) that would be dilutive to shareholders and IMO the stock price wouldn't go thru the roof as it has in the last week. Neither of these are impossible -- just my opinion.

I am going to be watching the SEC filings over the next few days. If a mutual fund is acquiring a stake they will be limited in their holdings and the rally may very well fizzle out. If a pharmaceutical is acquiring stock in anticipation of a takeover, this rally may accelerate or an announcement will be forthcoming.

Or an announcement could be forthcoming about a partnership, and the news has leaked. The stock price began dropping substantially in Dec 1996 prior to the negative CRF trial results.

Just my opinion (and it's probably worth what you paid for it).
