Kerry threw his ribbons, and other's medals. They gave him medals to throw for them...parapalegics can't always throw their own medals...but he didn't throw his own medals.

It was a protest of a war that was based on a lie...Gulf of Tonkin...and was not prosecuted properly...and we had no national security interest in the war. Even McNamarra said that...the war was a mistake...but he said it years after Kerry and other vets protested.

It's clear that the medal flap was created by the republicans...why would democrats create it, they don't even care about it...but the RNC had it posted on their web site for two days, Hannity ranted about it on his show, and then GMA picked up on the so called controversy.

But Kerry should have just rolled with it. Restated why he did what he did and left it at that. Lowering yourself to the level of the RNC attack dogs was a mistake.

While the Republicans will spend millions with scandals like this one, Kerry should leave it up to the DNC to counter.

I didn't see how Kerry actually responded to any of these attacks...so I cannot comment any further, other than to say he should not respond to that kind of dirty politics.

It's got to be tough when you're trying to get your message out and all the talk shows want to talk about is the medals thing...and yes it was started by the RNC. If the host of GMA picked it up for the discussion...to make for controversy...then they have to take responsibility for parroting the RNC line as well.
