I think a lot of right wingers think that they somehow "lost" when the majority of the American public came around to realizing that Vietnam was a mistake. Then they felt that they "lost" again when Nixon was forced to resign. So, they're determined not to "lose" again with this President and this war - wrongheaded as they both are. This war is a mistake, it's just a question of how many bodies we want to throw at it. America seems to be coming around. How many more Americans and Iraqis will die before Bush and then Kerry decide it's time to let the Iraqis settle their own hash.
