That wasn't an opposing viewpoint! It was some kid who wanted to get a reaction out of people. Was Tillman a hero? I don't know. What I do know is what he did was very unique. For a person to give up fame and fortune to go serve his country is pretty rare. To do it willingly is even more rare. Though on the surface his death is no greater than the death of any other soldier - It's the story that people are focusing on. Thats why its gotten all the coverage.

I don't know what Tillman was like but I believe he was a unique individual who valued some things more then money. That makes him all right in my book. He left the NFL and a load of money behind to serve his country. That really impressed me at the time. I was never for this Iraq excursion but fully support our goal in Afghanistan. To suggest Tillman was motivated by anything less then service to his country is disgraceful. These "opinions" provide no supporting evidence. He died for me, he died for us, and he died for his country. That’s all I know.
