I have a "friend" who sends at least one chain letter a week. I have never forwarded a one of them. For a while I suffered great angst and stress over this, because the consequences of breaking these chains, as you know, are very grave. I should now be permanently scarred by vicious attacks of hives, broke, blind and homeless. Well, I usually am pretty broke so that could have happened and I just didn't notice. Finally I wrote her and said that I thought it only fair to tell her I never did chain letters, and she wrote back very cheerfully that was fine. I guess she figures as long as SHE isn't getting hives and losing her home, she doesn't much care about what happens to me. Some friend.
