The site will eventually include previous aliases in searches on members.

Would it be correct to assume that when someone changes their alias on the new site that all their prior posts reflect the new name (as is the case currently)? While on the one hand it would be confusing to leave the old names intact (even if you could search through them as one entity), it's always also a bit confusing to read a reply that addresses someone by a prior alias.

Similarly, while it would be very helpful to see someone's prior aliases in their profile, I can see cases where someone who stopped using a variant of his real name might not want their prior aliases being so public.
