God, you and I are so much alike. I too started about that age on BP medicine. However, I have no ringing nor any other adverse symptom that I am aware of. I also eat ham or bacon and eggs for breakfast every morning. In fact I am perpetually on a modified Atkins Diet. My cholestrol is very low couple weeks ago I was tested it was 118 total, 83LDL and 29 HDL. The low level of the HDL is cause I smoke which lowers the good cholestrol. I take a mild dose of Lipitor but I also take a lot of Alternative medicines. Getting back to the ringing, I presume you have reported this to your doctor?? IMHO there is no reason for any adverse effects there are now SO MANY different BP medicines available. jdn
