We weren't, imo, blackmailed by Israel (we think too much about Israel, and our president, with his fundamentalist thinking tends to think in terms of Revelations, which involves Israel and the ME- a huge problem, imo- I don't want my president working out his policies in terms of the Bible, or the Torah, or the Norse Sagas, because ours is a secular government, that should be governed by secular logical planning) but our "special relationship" with Israel is a dysfunctional one for the US- and needs to be rethought.
