OT, The boogers just scratched my favorite longshot, Wimbledon. I wish I could find a way to blame this on George Bush and then he would blame Clinton. <G> But I have 16 other longshots to pick from. I don't like to bet much on large fields, as they tend to resemble destruction derbies and the best horse often can't get through at the time to make his run.
So, my favorite bet is going to be a 4 horse shotgun exacta box: Smarty Jones and The Cliff's Edge, the two favorites, with Lion Heart and Read The Footnotes, two shots who are extremely good horses.
In my trifecta wheel, I'm picking The Cliff's Edge with Lion Heart on top, Cliff but no Lion, plus Quinton's Gold Rush for second, and Cliff, Tapit, Smarty Jones and Quinton for third.
BTW, if it rains, I may just do a 5 horse exacta box on everyone going at 30-1 or better. If I win, send my mail to my new private island in the Pacific. <G>
This is going to be a chump change bet. I'll probably bet the ranch on some Maiden Claiming race with 8 horses and a much easier handicap.
