Net income of Mosenergo up in 2003

The net income of Mosenergo under RAS increased by almost 2.7 times to 1.73bn rubles (about $59.89m) in 2003, the company reported. Revenues increased by 31.42 percent and reached about 69.605bn rubles (about $2.4bn) whereas the prime cost of finished products advanced by 30.1 percent to 62.895bn rubles (about $2.2bn). The sales income of Mosenergo increased by 44.56 percent and amounted to 6.643bn rubles (about $229.99m). At the same time, other operating expenses decreased by 29.63 percent to 3.987bn rubles (about $138.03m), extraordinary expenses decreased by 11.3 percent to 1.872bn (about $64.81m). As a result, Mosenergo's income before taxes increased by more than 3.6 times to 3.197bn rubles (about $110.69m). According to the proposal made by the Board of Directors of the company to the annual general shareholder meeting, it is planned to spend 35.4 percent of the net income, or 613.127m rubles (about $21.22m), on paying dividends.
