A little negativity from UBS in its initiation of coverage of the major search engines and everybody goes running for the hills. Two points in the analysis, first that Lycos (and hence not excite) is securely moving into the number 2 position and that Lycos will go positive before Xcit.

To Jonathon Cohen, the UBS analyst, I say, pthooootttph. Let me guess, UBS is holding far too much Lycos for comfort and needed to give it a little push, eh? Well, nobody else, nowhere else, has reached the conclusion that lcos is ahead of excite. Nobody else, nowhere else, is saying that lcos is number 2. Everything, and I mean everything, is to the contrary.

Watch this opportunity. Remember Cowen came out with a buy recommendation the week before. Remember that Xcit is number 2, and lcos isn't close. When the next announcement comes, blowing Cohen's analysis out of the water, the tide will rush back to xcit and this will look like another of those great opportunities to get back in for an incredibly easy profit. Carpe Xcit.
